In September 2023, we launched an online ‘Disability & Climate: In conversation with…’ series for people who are interested in reflecting on and/or sharing experiences around disability and the climate crisis. Join us on Tuesday 8th September 2026, from 9.30-11am BST, for our next session with Ar. Kavya Poornima Balajepalli, an architect, researcher, and universal accessibility advocate whose work sits at the intersection of architecture, climate action, and disability inclusion.
Through her initiatives, Poornamidam and IIH Warriors India, Kavya brings together lived experience, research, and advocacy to reimagine more inclusive, equitable, and resilient built environments. Kavya has contributed to policy and practice through initiatives such as the ‘Charter of Demands: A Call to Action for Disability Justice’, accessibility audits of public and sports infrastructure, and advocacy for embedding universal design within architectural education and climate action.
